SPELEO AVVENTURA - ROSSO

SPELEO AVVENTURA - ROSSO

Duration approximately 3 hours – Reservation required. This second following itinerary is more difficult than the first one. We suggest to take part to this touring only to whom has already experience and loves adventure. Also this itinerary begins from the Neverend Hall. After the first meters, barring the way, there is a chasm 30 m deep called "Falconara well"; You will be with safety-catch on (through a climber’s rope), passing on the left and not looking down, the first obstacle has been overcame!! Now we are at "low drift". Look out at your head!!! Now there are 30 metres to walk on hands and knees and then after ups and downs we find another obstacle to cross: we have to climb up 10 m along a slippery tunnel called "splits slope". Always with safety-catch on and helped by the guides we are ready to climb and sweat. Passing through a long passage we reach to the hall of “stage”, of “molar tooth” and of "the elephant". Do you like narrow passages? Here you meet one. Thirty metres of narrow passage called Catacombs. We are at the end of our tour , and now we have to go back to discover other surprises.

Information
Since December 1993, the Frasassi Consortium has introduced a new service for visitors: “SPELEOLOGICAL TOURISM”, which allows anyone to visit the cave in areas without walkways or artificial lighting. Even those who have never had this kind of experience will, for a few hours, have the opportunity to step into the role of a speleologist and admire the most hidden beauties of the cave, equipped with a suit, helmet, and boots provided by the organisation, accompanied by two expert speleological guides.

The two routes pass through different cave areas; the Red Route is more demanding than the Blue Route due to some narrow but short passages (about 15–20 meters at most) and is nevertheless suitable for anyone in normal physical condition. It is not recommended for obese people, claustrophobic individuals, or those with heart conditions. The clay and humidity inside the cave make the routes quite slippery.

Participants in the speleological tour may also visit the tourist route, as access points to the speleological routes are located at the end of the artificial walkways.

EQUIPMENT PROVIDED: helmet, suit, boots, hygienic head covering.
WHAT TO BRING: tracksuit, thick cotton socks, rubber gloves (such as gardening or dishwashing gloves), spare underwear, and items for showering and hair drying.
AGE LIMIT: 12 years and over (mandatory for insurance reasons).

Cave temperature: 14°C, humidity 98%.

It is possible to bring a small, non-bulky camera to take photos (allowed only in the speleological route).

Regarding organisation, there are no fixed dates; tours are usually arranged on Saturdays, Sundays, and public or pre-holiday days when demand is higher. Entry times are generally 9:30 or, more frequently, 15:00.

IMPORTANT: on the day of the visit, you must arrive at the ticket office at least one hour before your scheduled entry time.

Bookings are also accepted on weekdays, provided a minimum number of participants is reached.

RESERVATIONS AND INFORMATION: only by phone at +39 0732 90090
NOTE: bookings via email are not accepted.
